Welcome

Welcome to the April edition of the NCCA Newsletter. The first quarter of 2015 saw us organising the first two networking drinks of the year as well as the kick-off of our Small Business Networking series.

We have many exciting events lined up for you, including one of our signature events – the 2015 King’s Day Business Breakfast on Wednesday 29 April, where we will have some exciting announcements and we will see a special guest joining us for this fantastic event!

Next to this, we will continue full steam ahead with our Small Business Networking series, welcome the Netherlands’ Vice-Minister of Trade to Melbourne, visit Melbourne’s Zoo for our @Home event, and of course organise our regular Networking Drinks with the Board.

In this newsletter, we will update you on these upcoming events, take a look back at our first Small Business Networking event, and provide you with other news and opportunities.

We look forward to seeing you at our next events!

Small Business Networking

The first in our series of Small Business Networking events was held on Wednesday 25 March. Our guest speaker – NCCA member Sarita Johan of Master Mind Business Solutions and LifePuzzle – gave a 60 minute presentation on 'the five steps of communication', followed by a group discussion where the attendees of the workshop shared their experiences.

As Sarita pointed out, effective communication involves a number of aspects, including active listening and body language. The presentation soon created a real buzz and lively debate amongst the attendees, many of whom spoke about their experiences of the Dutch way of communicating in an Australian professional context. As many have found out, this can often lead to misunderstanding and resistance where none needs to be. Sarita was hands-on in offering some very useful advice and simple steps to reduce the barriers and communicate effectively.

The conversations among the attendees carried on for quite a while over drinks after the event.

Why not join us for the next Small Business Networking event? On 27 May, Jim Parry from So-Brand will provide a workshop on how to build your brand promise.

These events are absolutely free for NCCA members, while non-members are welcome to attend for $49.95. Please see  www.ncca.com.au for more details. Book your spot today!

Visit of the Netherlands’ Vice-Minister for Foreign Trade

In June of this year, the Netherlands’ Vice-Minister for Foreign Trade – Simon Smits – will organise a trade mission to New Zealand and Australia, which will include a visit to Melbourne.

Streamlined membership renewal process

At the NCCA we are constantly looking at ways in which we can make improvements to the services we offer. In light of that, we have made some small but significant changes to our membership renewal system.

It is now even easier to renew your membership online. If you have a SME/individual membership you will receive an invite from us 30 days prior to your NCCA membership expiring to renew your membership with us. If you have used a credit card in the past to pay for your NCCA membership and have ticked the PayPal renewal option you will not have to do anything else, the system will automatically update your membership for you. If you have not ticked the automated payment system all you have to do is click the renew link and you will be guided to our payment page where you can easily renew your membership in one easy step.

If you have a corporate NCCA membership you will receive a renewal invoice via email which can also be paid online or via Direct Debit.

Should you require assistance with your membership renewal please contact our business manager Victoire Blom on 0413 581 362 or via email
info@ncca.com.au, we are always happy to help!
