This is the first newsletter of the year and I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the board of the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce Australia to wish you a happy and successful New Year.

Just like us on the board, most of you will have had some time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the next. 2014 has been a great year for the NCCA with many exciting networking activities; on top of our regular networking drinks we held our first TEDx Binnenhof event, the annual King’s Day Business Breakfast, the Melbourne Indesign launch at Zuster Furniture, our NCCA @ Home events, Professor Mark Leenders’ exclusive presentation on today’s cutting-edge developments in Research & Development and Marketing, and of course our fantastic End of Year Dinner.

Last year also saw some significant changes to the board of the NCCA, with Micha Helbig and Paul Kattestaart resigning as President and board member respectively. Both Micha and Paul have put in tremendous time and energy to make the NCCA to the organisation it is today and we took the opportunity to thank them both during the End of Year Dinner at the Langham. We have also welcomed our newest board member, Bianca Slingerland, who brings her experience and passion to the board in her efforts to maximise the sponsorship opportunities for our members and partners.

We are looking forward to following up on last year’s strong list of events with many more inspiring networking events. First up will be our Networking Drinks with the Board on the 28th of January, and we will be following this up in February with a presentation by Jim Parry from So-Brand who has helped many businesses make the most of their opportunities by engaging with their employees. This will be a great opportunity for our members to learn firsthand what Jim’s vast experience has taught him and how we can benefit from his insights.

In line with the NCCA’s tradition, we are always on the lookout for opportunities to help you engage with your fellow NCCA members. Furthermore, Melbourne is known for its vibrant hospitality sector and we will be looking to make the best use of this in the new year by branching out to new venues for our events in 2015.

As a voluntary networking association, we are blessed with a hard-working board, our business manager Victoire Blom, as well the support from our Principal Partners Rabobank, Grolsch and Singapore Airlines and Supporting Partner Hilton on the Park. I would like to thank all of them for their continued efforts in making the NCCA the premier Dutch business networking platform in Australia and I look forward to welcoming you to our events in 2015.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Sander van Amelsvoort

New Year's Networking Drinks

New Year, New Date, New Venue!

Join the Board of the NCCA for New Year's drink on 28 January.

We have found a terrific new venue for the first of our Networking Drinks in 2015 - the Blue Diamond Club.

The Blue Diamond Club is located at Level 15, 123 Queen Street in Melbourne.

It’s great informal way to meet up with other NCCA members, to network and it provides an excellent opportunity to introduce potential members to the Chamber. So why not invite two guests to attend the drinks!

The first drink for members is on us, thereafter drinks and snacks at bar prices.

Please make sure you register your attendance for this event online

Looking back at 2014

An overview of 2014 by the NOS

2014 was an eventful year. We had our first King's Day and delivered impressive performances during the Olympics and the World Cup Football in Brasil. The Netherlands was also a sad witness to the MH17 plane crash and an active participant in the after events.

The NOS is looking back in 4 annual reviews. Besides this you can find an overview in pictures of every month on their website and a daily story in which reporters and correspondents look back at the news of 2014.
