About Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways is a five star international carrier; part of the oneworld alliance the award-winning airlines operates daily non-stop flights from Melbourne and Perth to more than 140 destinations worldwide via its international hub in Doha.

From 16th June 2015 Qatar Airways commenced flying to Amsterdam. Amsterdam is the airline's first destination in The Netherlands and its 34th in Europe. Commencement of services to the Netherlands is the realisation of a long held ambition for Qatar Airways.

With this new service, passengers will experience the world’s best Business and Economy Class service on board the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, as well as convenient connections via the Doha hub at Hamad International Airport to Qatar Airways global network of more than 140 destinations.

The Melbourne - Doha leg will be on the ultra-modern and sophisticated 777-300ER and the Doha - Amsterdam route will operate with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, one of the latest next-generation aircraft in the airline's fleet, offering 254 seats configured in two classes, with 22 fully-flat-bed seats in Business Class and 232 in Economy Class.

The connection time at Doha airport is the quickest of all airlines (under two hours), meaning you can fly to Amsterdam via Doha from Melbourne in 21.45 hours, less than all other airlines!

The daily flights to Amsterdam will be departing from Melbourne late in the night, meaning you can work the whole day or spend the day ensuring everything is done before you leave - and the flights arrive in Amsterdam in the early afternoon, with return flights to Doha departing in the late afternoon. The schedule provides convenience and flexibility for passengers travelling to the city for leisure breaks or business meetings.

Qatar Airways, the national carrier of the State of Qatar, is one of the fastest growing airlines operating one of the youngest fleets in the world. Qatar Airways has a modern fleet of 160 aircraft flying to 147 key business and leisure destinations across six continents, now including Amsterdam! Qatar Airways is a member of the oneworld global alliance. The award-winning alliance was named the World’s Best Airline 2015 by Skytrax for the third year running. Qatar Airways was the first Gulf carrier to join global airline alliance, oneworld, enabling its passengers to benefit from more than 1,000 airports in more than 150 countries, with 14,250 daily departures.

Qatar Airways recently launched Oryx One, an enhanced interface for its inflight entertainment system, increasing the number of movies and TV shows on board from 950 to up to 2,000.
